my scanner is connected-it scan a document but brings it up as a picture and I cannot edit/make corrections to the document

save the pic and instigate it up with paint.. or photoshop.. thats something like all you can do

You can't in actuality change the words or anything because its immediately a picture. Word recognition software have not been invented [perfected]
You answered your own examine...it's because it's a picture. You need OCR software to know how to edit a document. From personal experience though, adjectives OCR software I've used does a pretty bad livelihood at recognizing primer and usually does not keep any of the formatting.
